Return visit arranged
A return visit will be arranged as quickly as possible — prioritised ahead of new bookings. Stuart will assess the fault and confirm whether it falls within the workmanship guarantee.

Fault assessed
If the fault is attributable to Thermotec’s workmanship, it will be confirmed as a guarantee claim. If it is a new unrelated fault or a component failure, Stuart will explain this clearly before any further work.

Rectified at no charge
Guarantee claims are rectified at no additional labour charge. Any new parts required are quoted and agreed before fitting. The job is completed to the same standard as the original visit.

What does the 12-month workmanship guarantee cover?
The guarantee covers any fault that develops as a direct result of Thermotec’s workmanship within 12 months of the original job. This includes incorrectly fitted components, inadequate sealing, incorrect system configuration and installation errors. If a fault is attributable to how the work was carried out, it will be rectified at no additional labour charge.
Does the guarantee cover parts as well as labour?
The 12-month workmanship guarantee covers labour. Parts fitted by Thermotec are covered by the component manufacturer’s own warranty, which typically runs for 12 months from the date of fitting. If a part fails within the manufacturer’s warranty period, Stuart will liaise with the supplier to obtain a replacement — labour to refit the part is covered by the workmanship guarantee if the original fitting is within the 12-month period.
Is the guarantee separate from the boiler manufacturer’s warranty?
Yes — the workmanship guarantee is separate from and in addition to any manufacturer’s boiler warranty. A new Vaillant installation, for example, comes with both Thermotec’s 12-month workmanship guarantee on the installation work and Vaillant’s own 5–10 year product warranty on the boiler itself (subject to annual servicing conditions). The two guarantees cover different things and run concurrently.
How do I make a guarantee claim?
Simply call 07850 116944 or email info@thermo-tec.co.uk with the original job details and a description of the fault. There is no formal claim form. Stuart will arrange a return visit as quickly as possible — prioritised ahead of new bookings. If the fault is confirmed as a workmanship issue, it will be rectified at no additional labour charge.
Does the guarantee apply to emergency plumbing callouts?
Yes — the workmanship guarantee applies to all work including emergency plumbing repairs, emergency boiler repairs, routine servicing and new installations. Any work carried out by Thermotec across Wokingham and RG40 is covered, regardless of whether it was a planned visit or an emergency callout.
What happens if the fault is not covered by the guarantee?
If Stuart assesses the fault and determines it is not attributable to Thermotec’s workmanship — for example, a component failure, a new unrelated fault or scale-related damage from Wokingham’s hard water — he will explain this clearly before any further work is carried out. A fixed-price quote for the new repair will be provided, and no work will start without your agreement. There is no charge for the assessment visit if the original job was within the guarantee period.
